The Millennium Performing Arts School in Woolwich is housed in a large concrete frame building from the beginning of the 20th century.
The brief asked for a reshuffling of the existing program to increase the efficiency of the building and the radical insertion of new spaces. The new spaces were to be very specifically programmed to provide accommodation for students, visitors and paying guests.
the aim to open the building up to the public, increase revenu from the building and provide a more holistic and supportive experience for the students. This was achieved through specifically designed sleeping spaces, a bar and café and therapeutic facilities.
